The Student Loan Bill of Rights, SB1351, is one vote away from becoming law. This week, the Illinois House of Representatives will vote to override the Governor’s veto of SB1351, following the Illinois Senate’s override two weeks ago.  We are so close.

We are working with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office on the Student Loan Bill of Rights, which establishes important protections for student loan borrowers, like requiring reasonable fees and ensuring that loan servicers provide borrowers with all repayment options. The bill also regulates student loan servicers in Illinois, and creates a Student Loan Ombusdman. Learn more about the bill by downloading the fact sheet.

We need your help getting the bill to the finish line.

Call your Representative and ask them to fight for students in our state by overriding the Governor's veto of SB1351. You can look up your Representative’s information by entering your address here.
